Christmas Bingo for Kids
Short words with a picture in every square, on cards small enough for little hands to win. Start with 3×3 for preschool and move to 5×5 as they grow.
Call sheet for this game
Classroom ideas
- Reading practice: call the word, children find it on a words-only card.
- Listening game: describe the item (“it keeps your hands warm”) instead of naming it.
- Quiet-time bingo: four cards per page, crayons as markers, and a blackout round before winter break.
At home
Play on Christmas Eve while waiting, during a long car trip (mark things you see out of the window), or as an advent activity: one square a day until the card is full.
Questions
What size should I use for young children?
Preschool and kindergarten: 3×3 with pictures. Ages 6–8: 4×4 or 5×5 with words + emoji. Older children can play 5×5 with words only or the movie and song list.
How many cards do I need for a class?
One per child plus a few spares. Up to 30 cards are free; every card is different, so there are no ties on the same call.
Can I play it as a reading game?
Yes. Use Words mode and call the words without showing the picture, or use Emoji mode and have children read the word from the caller card.
Can I print picture cards?
Most themes can show emoji pictures instead of words, or both together. Pictures help children who are still learning to read. Your device’s emoji are drawn into the PDF as images; if a device has no colour emoji, the word is printed in that square instead.
Are all the cards different?
Yes. Every card in a set has its squares in a different order, and as long as the word list allows it, a different selection of words too. If a list is too short to make that many different cards, the generator says so instead of printing repeats.
How do I print the cards?
Press Download PDF and print the file, or press Print to use your browser’s print dialog. Choose US Letter or A4 and 1, 2 or 4 cards per page. Four per page saves paper; one per page is easiest for small children and people who need large print.
